Why does skin age?

Signs of skin aging is the result of two different aging processes- internal as well as external. Internal aging is inevitable. As we age, our skin loses collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid, resulting in thinner skin, which sags and forms wrinkles and folds. External aging is due to factors that can be controlled, such as the environment and bad habits. The sun and smoking are two of the largest contributors to premature external aging. Poor diet and excessive alcohol-intake can affect your skin, as well. By moisturizing, avoiding smoking and alcohol, and drinking plenty of water, we can minimize the effects of external aging, but not internal aging.

What is Juvederm?

Juvederm is a long lasting gel that once injected into the skin with an ultra-fine needle, lifts and adds volume to the areas being treated. Since Juvederm is similar to one of the body’s own natural substance (hyaluronic acid), it is a very safe treatment. The hyaluronic acid in Juvederm simply supplements the body’s age depleted hyaluronic acid to plump-up the lips or to raise the skin and “fill-in” the particular wrinkle being treated. Fortunately, the Juvederm collection of fillers includes several formulations to treat different areas of your face.

Why choose Juvederm?

Juvederm has three (3) major benefits:

  1. It is obtained by biosynthesis
  2. It is of non-animal origin and the molecule is highly bio-compatible.
  3. It does not require prior testing.

In a totally natural but non-definitive way, Juvederm restores both the sensuality of your lips and smooth curves to your face. Through a simple injection, without a prior test, minor imperfections and signs of aging are very evenly softened. While other hyaluronic acid fillers on the market have more granular consistency, Juvederm injectable gel is the first smooth-consistency HA gel. This is due to an innovative manufacturing process called HYLACROSS technology. HYLACROSS gives Juvederm it’s unique smooth-gel properties as well as an optimal gel structure that holds up over time. That’s why Juvederm injectable gel is the only.

What can you expect during and after a treatment?

Wrinkle correction is a quick, in-office procedure with immediate results and no downtime. Common side effects are rare and are usually mild to moderate. After treatment, you may experience some redness and swelling, but this normally lasts less than seven days. Sunbathing and/or cold, outdoor activities should be avoided until any redness or swelling disappears. Avoid touching the area, exercising, or drinking alcohol for at least six (6) hours after treatment.

What is Radiesse?

Radiesse is an injectable filler that's FDA-approved for both hand rejuvenation and treating moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, including smile lines (aka nasolabial folds) and marionette lines.

It works especially well for counteracting volume loss, adding fullness and smoothing folds, to restore a more youthful appearance. This versatile volumizing filler can also contour the chin and cheeks, to reduce signs of aging or sculpt the face. It is a very hardy filler, great for creating 'pseudo implants' in the cheeks and chin area. Radiesse can be placed directly over the bone in the cheeks, to give a natural lift and change the appearance of the face, reversing the sagging of the cheeks that occurs with age. Diluted Radiesse in more superficial injections in the face, neck, and body to treat skin laxity and textural issues. It has also been shown to improve the neck, decolletage, arms, abdomen, and buttocks,” even treating stretch marks, crepey skin, and cellulite.

What is the advantage of using Radiesse?

The advantage of this technique is that the biostimulatory effect of Radiesse can increase collagen and improve skin on the body, as well as the face. Combining Radiesse with Thermage treatments will give the best volumizing and skin tightening results.
